No dia 12 de Fevereiro, a equipa da biblioteca e o grupo de Inglês, montou a exposição relativa a S. Valentim, dando a conhecer a história e tradições deste dia. A voz é de Nat King Cole: "When I fall in love"

Actividades realizadas

O grupo de Inglês, em colaboração com a equipa da biblioteca, tem divulgado algumas das tradições da cultura inglesa e americana.
Durante o primeiro período, pesquisámos a história do Halloween que remonta à interligação das culturas celta e romana nas Ilhas Britânicas e que os americanos transformaram no "Trick or treat" tão popular, hoje em dia. Comparámos esta data com os costumes das crianças portuguesas, que, nalgumas regiões do país ainda pedem o "Pão- por Deus".

No dia 5 de Novembro, foi a vez do "Guy Fawkes/Bonfire night", dia em que os ingleses celebram a descoberta da conspiração que tentou destruir as Casas do Parlamento, com barris de pólvora, para matar o Rei, James I.

No dia 26 de Novembro (4ª quinta feira do mês), os americanos celebraram o Dia de Acção de Graças - Thanksgiving - e quem entrava no bloco 1, tinha curiosidade em seguir o "peru" e assim conhecer melhor esta tradição.

Criámos um espírito de Natal na Biblioteca com a exposição dos postais feitos pelos alunos. Houve um concurso e o júri teve dificuldade em seleccionar apenas três postais, especialmente no 5º ano, dada a grande adesão e empenho. Muitos parabéns a todos! Os premiados foram:
5.º ANO: André Paulo – 5.º 9, Daniel Ferreira – 5.º 6, Inês Oliveira – 5.º 4,
Mafalda Rodrigues – 5.º 8, Pedro Machado – 5.º 4
6.º ANO: Adriana Peixoto- 6.º3, Luís Viana- 6.º1, Martinha Carvalho- 6.º1
7.º ANO: Paula Reis - 7.º4, Sara Peixoto - 7.º4, Vítor Silva - 7.º4

Apelando à solidariedade própria da época, divulgámos o "Boxing Day", 26 de Dezembro, feriado em que, tradicionalmente, os ingleses ofereciam "caixas" aos mais pobres. Fizemos a recolha de brinquedos, roupa e calçado para a Associação "Dar as Mãos".
